Honda vehicle safety honored by the IIHS

Each year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluates the safety of vehicles offered on the North American market. For 2025, Honda stands out with several models recognized for their excellent safety performance. These distinctions testify to the seriousness with which Honda designs its vehicles, particularly when it comes to occupant protection.

Prestigious awards for Honda

Among the models honored this year, the Honda Civic Hatchback, Accord and HR-V were awarded Top Safety Pick+, the highest recognition awarded by the IIHS. Two other models, the Civic sedan and the Pilot, received Top Safety Pick awards. These results place Honda among the top safety brands for 2025.

Demanding tests passed with flying colors

All award-winning Honda models achieved the highest possible GOOD rating in rigorous crash tests. Two types of test are particularly noteworthy: the small overlap frontal crash test and the revised side impact test, the latter simulating a collision with 82% more force than the initial test. These evaluations are designed to reproduce realistic accident scenarios to verify the strength of the vehicle's structure and the effectiveness of its safety features.

Advanced safety technology as standard

The Honda Sensing package, standard on all new Honda models, plays a key role in this remarkable performance. It includes reduced-impact braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and much more. These features are designed to prevent accidents or mitigate their severity, acting quickly when danger is detected.

Structured for protection

Award-winning Honda models also feature Honda's exclusive ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure. This technology is designed to distribute impact forces more effectively in the event of a head-on collision, providing greater protection for passengers. It is complemented by sophisticated restraint systems, including seat belts with pretensioners and a full range of airbags, from front airbags to curtain airbags.

Honda's results in the IIHS assessments for 2025 confirm the brand's ongoing commitment to safety. Whether for daily commutes or long journeys, drivers can count on vehicles designed to offer peace of mind. These distinctions are not just symbolic honors: they are a concrete expression of the attention paid to protecting everyone on board.
